Most of you may not care, I’m not even really sure if I do, but Steve Wiebe was at Mix last night playing Donkey Kong. And while he did not get the high score he did get to the kill screen which is level 22 in Donkey Kong. This is where (as they claimed) the game runs out of memory to allow you to keep playing and so you start the level, play for about 5-10 seconds and then the character just dies. Supposedly it is because the designers of the game didn’t really think that anyone would ever get this far. Well apparently this screen is *very* rare and it has only been seen about 5 times officially. So, here is my crappy pics (taken with an iPhone, so the quality isn’t fantastic) of Steve Wiebe’s kill screen (and record breaking attempt).
