I know that this is a totally random thought, but back in high school English I had to learn about euphony and cacophony. The basic gist is that euphony is a pleasant sounding word and cacophony is used to describe a harsh sounding word. Meaning that you can tell a lot from a word just by looking at it. If a word sounds cacophonous then it is probably negative and if not, then it is likely a positive word. Of course this is subjective, but for some reason every time I see the word "droll" I just don't think "Amusingly odd or whimsically comical". Someone needs to change the definition of that word. Seriously, someone call Webster.
